Teaching:

Sedimentology; Dynamic stratigraphy.

Research:

  • Holocene coastal dune and beach deposits, west coast of Jutland, Denmark (including facies analysis, studies of stratigraphic architecture, GPR mapping, luminescence and radiocarbon dating and analysis of proxy-climate data).
  • Pleistocene aeolian and colluvial deposits, Balearic Islands, Western Mediterranean (including facies analysis, studies of stratigraphic architecture and event stratigraphy, dating, magnetostratigraphy and analysis of proxy-climate data).
  • Holocene spit deposits, Denmark (including studies of sediments, stratigraphy and landscape evolution, GPR mapping, dating and reconstructions of sea-level variation and climate change).
  • Lower Cambrian sandstones, Bornholm, Denmark (including facies analysis and reconstructions of sedimentary processes and depositional environments).

Current research student topics:

  • GPR mapping and facies analysis of Pleistocene spit deposits, SW Jutland, Denmark
  • GPR mapping and geomorphological studies of Holocene spit and strandplain deposits, Zealand, Denmark
  • GPR mapping of Holocene dunefield deposits, Thy, Denmark
  • Event stratigraphical studies and dating of Holocene dunefield deposits, Thy, Denmark
  • Sedimentology and stratigraphy of interbedded aeolian and colluvial deposits, Late Pleistocene, Mallorca
